Department Overview:
Capital Dynamics’ Business Development team is responsible for the fundraising of every alternative investment product on the global CD platform, across various markets local to our Firm. Our team focuses on Institutional Limited Partners (“LPs”), including (but not limited to) Public Pension Funds, Private Pension Funds, Insurance Companies, Financial Institutions, Foundations, Endowments, Single Family Offices, Private Wealth investors (i.e., High-Net-Worth Individuals and the financial intermediaries that serve them, including Wealth Platforms, Broker-Dealers, Registered Investment Advisors, Multi-Family Offices, etc.).
Role Purpose:
Capital Dynamics are seeking a junior level, self-starting professional to join our US Business Development (“BD”) Sales team in the New York office. The Analyst will assist with a range of activities to support the capital fundraising and the marketing of CD’s products to institutional Limited Partners (“LPs”), Consultants and third-party wealth management intermediaries.
The ideal candidate will be highly organized, resourceful individual that can support various members of the US sales team with their fundraising and relationship building activities. This role will work closely with team members across our BD, Product Development & Strategy (“PDS”), Marketing & Communications (“MarComms”), Legal and Compliance, and Investment Management (“IM”) teams.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Support the Global Head of Sales with presentation creation, data analysis, market research, project management, and ad hoc initiatives.
• Respond to inbound LP and Consultant requests across all strategies in a timely manner, in coordination with the PDS team.
• Partner with PDS to complete RFPs and RFIs.
• Project manage virtual and on-site due diligence sessions (investment and operational), coordinating agendas, presentations, prep calls, and logistics across BD, PDS, and IM teams.
• Oversee the fund closing process, including subscription document management and coordination with Legal, Tax, and Compliance.
• Monitor external databases (Preqin, FIN Searches, etc.) to identify investment searches and track RFP pipeline status; maintain and update CRM (Microsoft Dynamics 365) on an ongoing basis.
• Support senior sales representatives on fundraising efforts, including prospecting research, meeting prep, conference marketing, calendar coordination, and post-call notes.
• Ensure third-party sales activity complies with Compliance protocols, particularly for marketing to public pension funds; maintain a tracking sheet of all past and upcoming third-party meetings.
• Review the forward-looking US BD calendar and assist with preparation for meetings, conferences, and events.
• Prepare and refine marketing materials, including pitchbooks, finals presentations, and ad hoc materials, in partnership with PDS.
• Perform weekly CRM updates and data hygiene to maintain accurate pipeline information.
• Provide ad hoc project support to the PDS team and C-Suite as needed.
Key Competencies and Experience:
• 1 to 2 plus years of experience at an asset management or institutional investment consulting firm, with a preferred focus on private assets, but we are also open to applications from recent graduates.
• Strong project / process management skills and the ability to work well with others and operate in an entrepreneurial environment.
• Exceptional attention to detail and ability to proof own work and work of others.
• Exceptional Microsoft Office skills required (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word).
• Ability to multitask and work under tight timeframes / manage strict deadlines.
Education and Qualifications:
• Undergraduate degree with strong academic background.
• Exceptional proficiency MS Word, MS PowerPoint and MS Excel.
• SIE, Series 7 & 63 licenses required; candidates who do not currently hold these licenses will be required to obtain them within 3 months of joining Capital Dynamics.
Languages:
• Must be fluent in English and display superior writing skills.
• Proficiency in other language; Spanish, German, French, Italian or Arabic is highly advantageous though not essential.
