The Opportunity:

The Legal Intern will support multiple members of our in-house legal team across a variety of legal activities. This is a hands-on role offering direct exposure to the legal workings of a global alternative asset manager  spanning fund formation, investment transactions, and ongoing fund management.

 

Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Support members of the in-house legal team on a broad range of legal activities across fund formation, transactions, and portfolio management.

• Assist with the review, drafting, and organisation of legal documents and fund-related materials.

• Conduct legal research to support the team on regulatory, structural, and transactional matters.

• Help maintain and organise legal files, precedent libraries, and documentation repositories.

• Coordinate with internal teams including investment, compliance, and finance on cross-functional legal workstreams.

• Use AI tools  including large language models (LLMs) to assist with legal research, document summarisation, and first-pass review of fund documentation, under appropriate supervision.

 

The successful candidate will be:

• Intellectually curious, proactive, and self-motivated, eager to learn and take initiative.

• Commercially minded with a genuine desire to understand financial markets and investment management.

• Genuinely interested in private equity and the dynamics of clean energy / renewable energy market.

• Comfortable experimenting with new AI tools and technologies, and keen to apply them practically in your work.

• A clear and structured communicator - able to synthesise complex information into concise, well-presented outputs.

 

Skills and Competencies:

• Strong coordination and teamwork skills able to work effectively across multiple stakeholders and workstreams simultaneously.

• Excellent planning and organisational skills, including the ability to manage a number of projects concurrently.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skill able to convey complex legal concepts clearly and concisely.

• A proactive, hands-on approach with a willingness to respond to requests on tight timelines.

• Strong problem-solving skills and sound analytical judgement.

• AI & LLM Fluency practical familiarity with AI tools such as large language models (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude) for legal research, document review, or drafting assistance. Ability to critically assess AI-generated outputs and apply them responsibly within a regulated, professional legal context.

• Awareness of how AI is beginning to reshape legal workflows in asset management and financial services including contract analysis, due diligence, and regulatory research is highly desirable.

 

Education & Qualifications:

• University student studying law, Bachelor's Law degree, or a graduate currently studying towards the GDL (Graduate Diploma in Law) or LPC (Legal Practice Course).
