Private Equity Secondaries:
The Global Secondaries team acquires limited partnership interests in established, high-quality, mature leveraged buyout, growth capital, and select venture capital funds and managers. Our differentiated approach focuses on smaller and more complex secondary transactions on a global basis including fund restructurings, tail-end wind-down transactions, and preferred interest structures. The deal sourcing and due diligence advantages that come with our established PE platform make the Secondaries team a highly valued partner across the industry.
The Opportunity:
The Intern will support the Capital Dynamics – Secondaries Investment team to perform both quantitative and qualitative assignments related to making secondary investments. This is a hands-on role that provides direct exposure to live deal activity and the full secondary investment process.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
• Gain a broad understanding of the private equity sector and the key value drivers that underpin secondary investment decisions.
• Shadow and support the deal team on live secondary transactions from initial screening through to execution.
• Screen investment opportunities including acquisitions of LP stakes, portfolios of LP stakes, Fund-of-Funds interests, and GP-led transactions.
• Assist in the preparation of financial models and Investment Committee memoranda.
• Perform valuation analysis using comparable companies' analysis and precedent transaction comparables.
• Attend calls and meetings with General Partners and contribute actively to the Q&A process.
• Leverage AI tools, including large language models (LLMs) to accelerate research, summarise fund documentation, and support the preparation of investment materials.

• Genuinely interested in private equity and the dynamics of secondary markets.
• Comfortable experimenting with new AI tools and technologies, and keen to apply them practically in your work.
• A clear and structured communicator - able to synthesise complex information into concise, well-presented outputs.
Skills and Competencies:
• Relevant prior internship experience or a keen interest in one or more of the following areas is beneficial:
o Secondaries private equity fund
o M&A or structured/leveraged finance team of a leading European or American bank
o Transaction Services team of a leading audit firm
o Leading strategy consulting firm
• Knowledge of financial statement analysis, valuation techniques, and competency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Broad quantitative, qualitative, and interpersonal skills; a strong team player.
• AI & LLM Fluency, can illustrate some practical experience using AI tools such as large language models (e.g. ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini), prompt engineering, or AI-assisted research workflows. Ability to critically evaluate AI-generated outputs and apply them responsibly in a professional context.
• An understanding of the concept of value creation in investment management is desirable.
Education & Qualifications:
• Strong academic background, currently studying for a bachelor's degree at a recognised college/university in a relevant discipline (Finance, Economics, Business, Mathematics, or similar).
Language Requirement:
• Must be fluent in English and display superior verbal and written communication skills.
